Cole 4 month update

Little brother Cole is fast approaching the 4 month mark. Despite sharing a house with big brother Owen, Cole has made it all the way to this milestone.

At four months Cole:

• Love to laugh and giggle. Especially when he is tickled or when Owen is getting in trouble.
• Can roll over in either direction
• Sleeps through the night (7 to 7)
• Is the big talker at day care.
• Is really good at passing gas (also makes him laugh)
• Is starting to wear 9 month clothes
• Can hold up his head when sitting.
• Can lift and hold his head during tummy time.
• Has developed a need to suck his thumb, or any finger that gets near his mouth.
• Loves watching big brother play and talk and whine.

Career Day

Who knows what Owen will do when he gets older. But based on a few recent activities this is what we came up with.

Getting Along With Others

Owen and Cole have lots of opportunities to interact with each other and other people. Here are a few recent examples.

Cousins Mya and Owen decided to make a Billy Sandwich


Daddy was having a hard time teaching Cole to drink from a bottle until Owen came over and showed Cole how to do it.

Hanging out with his "best friend" mommy. Daddy and Cole are also referred to as "best friend".

Cole loves looking at his big brother. Owen likes Cole as long as he isn't interfering with his Mommy/Daddy time.

Play date with Cooper. Luckily they figured out how to get of the rotating floor.

Owen has already learned that you have to do whatever it takes to get off your back.

Sometimes in the hubbub of chasing after Owen, Cole gets left off to the side. Luckily he's easily entertained ... so far.

Census 2010

Daddy saved the government oodles of money by saving the census form from Owen. Obviously he didn't understand the ramifications of having an enumerator come to our house. Hopefully they won't dock us a person for having a crumpled census form.

We count for one more now!

Great Ideas

Owen has a lot of "ideas" and he normally exclaims, "I have a good idea" when he comes up with it.

Today, while playing on the dirt pile while wearing his big boy underpants (he had on pants too) he had an accident. His whole leg was wet and he was forced to walked around like a cowboy fresh off a 12 hour run. I asked him if he need to be changed and of course the answer was "no". Then he proceeded to sit down and the dirt pile and let me know he had a "good idea". He picked up a clump of dirt, rubbed it on his wet pants and said, "maybe this will help". Of course it didn't help - but you have to give him credit for coming up with a creative solution.

Cole's Baptism

Big day for Cole last weekend. His baptism was on Sunday. The whole family came down to be part of it.
